Salihli Science and Art Centre (SAC) was founded on 23rd  July, 2004 with the permission of Turkish Ministry of National Education. Our motivation is to give an experiental education to the talented and gifted pupils identified by the specialists, who show a high-level performance in intelligence, creativity, art, leadership or academic fields among their peers.

 In our centre there are 2 Art studios, 2 Music studios, 1 Physics lab, 1 Chemistry lab,1 Biology lab and 14 classrooms. There are 21 teachers with different branches,including Maths, Physics, Geography, English, Music, Primary School, Art, Turkish Language And Literature, Social Siences, History, Chemistry, Philosophy, Biology, ICT, Design and Technology, Counselling with a Principal and a Vice Principal.

Salihli Science and Art Centre is subordinated to the General Directorate of Special Education Guidance and Counselling Servises.Salihli SAC  gives education to the gifted and talented students aged between 7-17. These students attend their classes in SAC after their formal education. The students are identified with objective and standard measurement tools due to the criteria determined by Ministry of Education. The identification is done in  the fields of General Cognitive Skills, Music and Art. Students ,who deserve to be a member of SAC, have 5 steps of education during their presence in the centre. These are:

2. Reinforcement

3. Distinguishing individual talents

4. Improving special talents

5. Project production and implementation

In order to present unique products and projects in SACs, project-based, interdiciplinary, enriched and differentiated education programme is applied to the students. All of the activities in SACs are based on project production and implementation.

Our education programme has been carried out through individualized and enriched curriculum that has been developed in the workshops of related fields of study, which were organized by General Directorate of Special Education, Guidance and Counselling Services of Turkish Ministry of Education.

Our two Music teachers, Geography teacher, and English teacher are the coordinators of these workshops. 

Our education programme supports cross-curricular activities within different fields of study.

Our institution has gained various awards in regional, national and international contests since its foundation. Erasmus + KA2 and KA1 projects have been carried out since 2014. We were granted for a KA2 as a partner of the project called "A Healthy Mind on a Healthy Body" and a KA1 named "Innovative Approaches to Teaching in the Education of the Gifted Pupils" in 2018. Many E-Twinning projects have been carried out and have still been going on for many years. Each dicipline leads different contests, concerts, dramas, excursions and exhibitions within the institution or regionally.
